Today, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow Again

Sometimes we come to our mat to sweat.
To reach, twist, bend, launch, lengthen, and fold.
Other times we come to find solace.
We come to silently cry
or dive in out of poses with the fearless exuberance of a child.

We come to surrender, seek, celebrate,
to come undone and pieced whole again.
We come for the comfort of likeminded community
and relief in solitude.

We ask for forgiveness, help, peace, liberation,
strength, resolve, reprieve.

We come back to our mat.
Beginning again, over and over.
Today, tomorrow, and tomorrow again,
because we crave the life force
that only such purposeful movement breathes.
